Seat Riser Kits for ’97 to present TJ style Wranglers, Rubicons, and Unlimiteds.

It has been know since their introduction that the seats in TJ Wranglers were a little on the low side. Everyone who had driven earlier Jeep models (especially off road) noticed this almost immediately, but for people who are 6’1” and above it was not a problem. Shorter people however noticed right away that they couldn’t see the end of the hood nearly as well as they were used to, and as a result had a tendency to run into rocks and other immovable objects on the trail. Raising the seats up 1” helped the problem immensely. And so at the request of several friends I designed and built 10 kits. Everyone liked them, so I made 50 kits, and started selling them to people I met. We got a short “Review” in JP Magazine, and the product started to take off.

---

As of 2003, Jeep was forced to lower the seats another 1 ½”, which really started causing problems for shorter people. Now anyone who was shorter than 5’8” was having problems seeing over the dash when off road, and people under 5’6” could barely see over the dash period, on or off road. Adding a full roll cage with a dash bar, made the vehicles unsafe to drive, for short people, due to impaired forward visibility. Jeep was under Government mandate (Per several Jeep engineers) to lower the seats to insure a specific “Airbag Target”, and was unable to address the problem. However I felt, as do virtually all of my customers, that, it’s more important to be able to see clearly and avoid accidents, than worrying about where the airbag will hit you “IF” it deploys during an accident. As a result of this “lowering”, I was coaxed by several owners of brand new “Rubicons” to start building 1 ½”, and 2” riser kits. As a result of this, they started putting my name on the various “Internet Forums”, and the product “REALLY” took off. We are now advertising in several Large Jeep club newsletters and 4WD magazines.

Now virtually anyone can benefit from the installation of one of my Seat Riser Kits.

These kits raise you up to an elevation that allows you to see over the dashboard for overall better visibility, and helps you avoid running into things on the trail.

The kits consist of 8 ea. Machined, Black Anodized Aluminum Blocks, 8 ea. Grade 8 Bolts and Hard Washers, along with instructions. One kit does both seats. 1” kits are for people 5’10” and above, 1 ½” kits are for 5’6” to 5’8-9”, and 2” are for people5’6” and under. THESE SIZE RANGES ARE VERY ACCURATE.

All kits are shipped 1-2 days after order by “Priority Mail” and “USUALLY” arrive 2-3 working days after I mail them.
